Yes — with a caveat. One word a day won't make you fluent on its own, but it does two important things: it builds a daily habit, and it gives you 365 real words per year. Combined with the example sentences and memory tips, you're learning vocabulary in context, which is significantly more effective than flashcard drilling. Most people find that after 3–6 months they start recognising words in native content — songs, shows, menus — which is deeply motivating.
The email is sent at 7:00am UTC. Depending on your timezone, this will arrive at different local times — for UK subscribers that's 7am GMT / 8am BST, for US East Coast it's 2am EST / 3am EDT, for Australia Eastern it's 5pm or 6pm. We're building timezone-aware sending for the Pro tier so your word arrives at the right time for you.
The free tier covers one language. You can change your language at any time, but to receive multiple daily words — one per language — you'll need a Pro subscription. Pro includes all 10 languages, so you can run as many as you'd like simultaneously.
Yes — the Artinya app is in development and will be available on Android and iOS. The app adds daily quizzes, streak tracking, a word history with search, a GitHub-style learning calendar, and home screen widgets so your daily word is always visible. The email is the primary delivery method; the app is the practice layer.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you'll be removed immediately — no forms to fill in, no confirmation emails, no dark patterns. We also honour List-Unsubscribe headers, so you can unsubscribe directly from Gmail, Apple Mail, or Outlook without even opening the email.
Yes — and this was intentional. Punjabi is the 10th most spoken language in the world with 150 million speakers, but it's almost completely ignored by major language learning apps. Duolingo, Babbel, Drops, and Rosetta Stone all skip it. We built Punjabi support from day one, and we specifically serve the diaspora community in the UK, Canada, US, and Australia who are reconnecting with the language. The words are written in Gurmukhi script with full romanisation.
